As part of our in-house design capabilities, DEC developed a containership design to market for the Short Sea Shipping initiative. Using an existing tank-ship design, DEC naval architects and engineers converted the existing design to a 688-TEU containership for coastal service. The 477’ x 72’ x 25’ vessel had a range of 2100 nautical miles at a maximum speed of 11.5 knots. PDF file of drawing below
