DEC was a principal subcontractor to Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding in the detail design of the US Navy’s San Antonio Class LPD-17. DEC’s design team provided overall scantling analysis and verification, two-dimensional and three-dimensional finite element stress analysis of key structural elements, foundation and outfitting design, systems penetration analysis, production level hull unit drawing review and production field support.
